Mortal Kombat II really impressed me back then, and I still hold it in high regard to this day. But when the third game came out, we were simply overwhelmed! So many new characters, unmasked Sub-Zero, animalities, codes to input before the fights, Motaro, the cyborgs, the all-black Noob Saibot… Then Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 came out to offer even more (and replace animalities with brutalities). We were in heaven! I remember I was pretty good with Smoke and Noob Saibot.
Naturally, just like its predecessor, the game offered some sweet music, too. Dan Forden had once again contributed nicely to the dark, menacing atmosphere of the game. And today, I’m sharing my favourite theme – The Rooftop. Not surprisingly, the Mega Drive/Genesis version of the song beat the SNES one by far. Furthermore, it even beat the original arcade version!
