This week’s music comes from a Konami 16-bit classic, the SEGA Mega Drive/Genesis game Contra: Hard Corps… It was suggested by the Between Life and Games forum user Noken. I’ve tried this game a few times, but my impression was that it’s one of the most difficult games ever, as I always died quite early. Anyway, like many other games on SEGA’s miracle console that changed the industry forever, Contra: Hard Corps has a supreme soundtrack. You’ll surely recognise the name of one of the composers below… None other than Akira Yamaoka, who would become quite famous for his work on Silent Hill later on. The theme of choice today is called “The Hard Corps Blues”.
Composers: Hiroshi Kobayashi, Michiru Yamane, Akira Yamaoka, Hirofumi Taniguchi, Aki Hata
Game: Contra: Hard Corps
Song: The Hard Corps Blues
