I kind of like being able to see when others are online and find it is nice to have if you end up in a conversation with someone and want to know when they have left or if you would post if only someone else was there to engage you.

Well, I'll look into it during the weekend. There's probably some Wordpress plugin for this. Thanks a lot for the suggestion! :)

I have just added such a plugin (after making it look decent and in line with the forum skin), but I'm not sure about its reliability. It's possible that it displays a user as online even after they've closed the browser. If they click log out, it's fine, but what if they just close the window? I hope there is a timeout, testing now.

Scratch that, doesn't seem to be working too well... Will be looking for other options.
