Haha. Good one.

P.s. I always found the intro sequence to that game hilarious because of the unintentional homoerotic undertones.

this Ahhhh ... to start a sentence line is contagious. I'm starting to use it a lot more. This narrator sounds familiar ...

Quite an impressive VA resume he has. I must have recognized him from his work on Game of Thrones the telltale game.

Wow, that's a huge list. He's in practically every game ever made.
*gasp* He voiced Moneybags in Spyro! He's good. :D

Interesting history of Final Fantasy V

"Final Fantasy V was directed by Final Fantasy series creator Hironobu Sakaguchi who, prior to the release of Final Fantasy IX, called it his favorite Final Fantasy game."

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Final_Fantasy_V#Development

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Final_Fantasy:_Legend_of_the_Crystals

"The continual canceling of the localization angered fans and led to Final Fantasy V becoming one of the first games to receive a complete fan translation."

That's right if they didn't cancel the official translation so much, then the fan translation movement would not have gained steam!

It's also disgusting how one of the reasons they didn't sell it in NA/Europe was because they thought it was "too difficult" for those markets.

Such sanctimonious Jap behavior. They did the same thing when they dumbed down Final Fantasy IV and turned it into an easy mode for the English market. The Japanese version wasn't even that much harder.

I beat 2nd dungeon in Zelda ALBW.. the game is so bland. I don't even want to finish it.
Merge into wall, collect roopeez. Unmerge from wall and proceed as usual.
Get key, open door, whack bat, break some pots, get another key.
Rinse repeat. Blah...

The 2nd dungeon is the worst. It's this quaint little windmill from the outside but becomes this megalthic four story structure as you're exploring it.
Peak immersion failure. In a way, that's where the game really ends.
But I guess that's the challenge that comes with making an overhead perspective game with tall structures. That must be why in LttP the tallest dungeons are at the top edge of the map while the southmost dungeons tend to be subterranean.

I owned the game a while back and beat three dungeons.. Really wanted to finish it this time. On well.
At least now I don't have to go through the mountain area again. That was abuse.

Oh yeah.. I didn't really like that game either. The merging into walls was nice sometimes, but meh. The game lacks personality.

3D Land is bland too. I'm running out of option on 3DS... maybe I will get Ocarina of Time and try to make peace with it.
I could try to get into Fire Emblem also.. but that's risky, FE carts are kinda expensive.

Ocarina of Time on 3ds is blaspheme.

Maybe you've sucked up all the 3DS had to give. Maybe it's time for it to retire? Or are there still games you want to play?

Wow klem.. that comment was all it took to have me doubting I would like Ocarina. I played it on the 64 so I would probably not connect with the remade version as much. I checked a comparison vid and the running animation seems off to me for starters. Looks like you saved me 12-15 bucks.

As for 3DS I think there may still be a few titles worth checking out, but we'll see.
Edit: I'm playing Mario Kart on my og model lack 3DS. I like the system. So I'd like to be able to find something good to play on it.
Fire Emblem.. There are so many of them. If I end up liking them the payoff would be huge. Ninty went all out with FE releases on the 3DS.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of the remade graphics and animation. The n64 had some damn good animations and I just love the lighting effects on n64. The new one is just blegh.

Same as mario 64 on the ds. It's just...... wrong. Even Mario looks like a different person than he was. Like... more kid friendly Mickey Mouse and less fat plumber. And the colors are way less brilliant.

Games from that era just can’t be remastered. It just does not work, developers just can’t connect with development practices from that era anymore. They always end up butchering it.

Just look at ff7 and ff8 hd. They look like absolute ass. The character models don’t mesh well with the backgrounds and it all just ends up looking like a big mess. Give me pixel squall over that new plastic ken doll they replaced him with any day.

Oh yeah the Fire Emblems were a thing on the 3ds. I never really got into FE though. I did love the GameCube one (path of radiance?) but I didn't like the idea of playing one on a handheld because the character models would be even harder to see because of the small size of the screen.

I like the N64 Mario 64 graphics, Mario and Bowser was off model and I love that, it felt like bottom up reimagining of Mario series whereas the DS version seems more corporate. I also preferred when Sonic looked different from game to game.

FE seems so hard to get into because of the map system where everyone's a little icon and it zooms in for battles. Seems awfully time consuming to zoom in for a cutscene for every attack. But at least you gain exp at the end of attacks instead of after battle, so that's a plus. The more the game is like FFT, the better.

I ordered a few 3DS games. But now I have to wait until they arrive. Maybe I'll read a book... =.=

Yeah that's exactly the word to describe the change in mascot looks: "corporate". Feels dirty.

Books are good too. If you open them up and turn them sideways they even look like a 3ds.

Remember what I said about Facebook and having enough of people? Well Favslist is back up. But I don’t find time to visit, I like it here where it’s just me telling jokes to myself. Then every now and then somebody pops in to say hi then goes away. I should just make my own site.
