And on topic... I am playing Tales of Vesperia, although at a rate of like 2-3 hours a week because there are so many other things to do... And I'm playing it in Japanese, that's the only language it came out in on PS3. I bought it at a used-book shop during our last trip to Japan. Finally, I am fluent enough in the language to understand most of it. Of course, unknown words still come out every few minutes, but understanding everything else is very fulfilling.

Amazing game, one of my favourite!

As for me, I'm at the end of my first season using the 95/96 database. With a single game to go I'm 1 point ahead of Arsenal, one little slip will cost me the title. I'm actually feeling the pressure, I'm scared to advance to the last game!

Sheffield Wednesday... Heh. I remember when the poor lads lost 2 finals to Arsenal. Was an Arsenal fan back then.

Being that I got back into MtG recently, I went to my first Commander event in years. I barely have any cards so I bought the vampire precon. Wow. I thought I was just getting a deck, but it came with a beautiful oversized card (novelty item) and a pamphlet containing backstory/lore of some of the characters. Turns out this Edgar guy is a pretty bad dude, not just any vampire lord, but the first vampire. The. FIRST. VAMPIRE. (on his home plane, anyway) Turns out he was a human alchemist who had help from a demon to discover a recipe for immortality. Not only that, but if it were not for him there would be no other vampires on Innistrad. The reason there are is because he shared his gift with anyone who wanted it! No wonder he appears to be so respected. That's damn fine artwork, btw. It seems like a real feat to compose something with so many characters interacting at once. https://magiccards.info/c17/en/36.html

It is. This month they're releasing a set that takes us back to Dominaria. They said that designing it was a challenge since Dominarian lore is so huge that they weren't sure what to focus on. It was only later on in MtG's lifespan that the focus shifted to planes with singular identities. (E.g. Victorian horror, Japanese mythology, Greek mythology, Egypt, etc)

The article they wrote about it had a neat quote btw, I thought it could just as easily apply to videogames: "It was at this point that I invoked what I called the "Time Spiral rule." Our job, I said, was not to return Magic to the past (aka make it play like it once did), but to take elements of Magic's past and bring them forward to modern gameplay. We had made this mistake during Time Spiral block and caused endless confusion about what was and what wasn't accepted in modern Magic. Dominaria could and should have nostalgia (as the good parts of Time Spiral did), but not by violating the color pie or returning to things we had purposefully removed from the game." Mark Rosewater (lead designer, Magic the Gathering)

P.s. we were talking about card prices before. Turns out there is a Modern legal card that's even more pricey than Jace or Tarmogoyf.

Doing pretty well for yourself aren't you Liliana? :p
Anyway, just thought I'd mention that.

edit: There's actually a card named Peacewalker, smh

I played SiegeVR over at the Yom Ha’atzmaut Community Celebration

http://store.steampowered.com/app/690310/SiegeVR/

A pretty new game just released last month. It was ok. It really did give me that sense that I was fighting a siege battle except I didn't take any damage.

There's a couple of other competing VR archery games on steam. Glad I had the opportunity to try this one.

My interest in PSP might have finally died. It gets old to keep having to download and transfer games to it looking for something good, and this may have been the first time where nothing was good. (Manhunt 2 was close to bring decent, but I kept getting stuck in it)

I predicted this might be my final batch of games. I played over 230 games on the system, there are probably a fifty more I could check out but it's at a point where I feel this is good enough. I finished every series I wanted, leaving nothing out, and tried virtually everything that's acclaimed/popular. Unless I want to try out every conceivable game ever released on the system, there really isn't reason to go on. It may now be time to pack it up and I guess, hoard it somewhere.

I could finally replace it with something, like an iPad. Maybe I'll do that..

Congrats on going that far with PSP! No chance I ever play so many games on a single system... Instead of iPad where you'll have a hard time finding good games which aren't ports, why not emulate old and gold games on PSP. NES has so many hidden gems, for example.

I'd use the iPad for other things, not gaming.
And yeah, I thought about keeping the PSP around a bit longer for PS1 games or emulators. I could try the Crash Bandicoot and Tomba games for instance, and Klonoa. But I dunno. My excitement only registers as an "eh". For that matter I also considered switching over to 2DS or Nintendo Switch.

Recently a lot of Tetris (SNES version via emulator) actually, still breaking my records. Like reaching transition (meaning Level 19) or surpassing a quarter million points.

Got to level 40ish on World of Warcraft before my first month expired  but my guildie already gifted me 2 more months. Since I was so slow leveling the first month I'll probably wait a while to resume playing

OK I gotta put Viking: Battle for Asgard closer to the front of my To Do list after watching that 10 games FANS LOVED but CRITICS HATED video
https://store.steampowered.com/app/211160/Viking_Battle_for_Asgard/

Still playing mostly Dungeons and Dragons Online and some Tesla Effect (not bad!)

My PS3 turned 10 yesterday, I even played Tales of Vesperia in the evening. Sony weren't lying about that 10-year lifespan. :)

I've discovered Magic Arena about a week or two ago.. and ever since I've been stupidly addicted. Today I found out there's a Holiday Pauper thing going on. It uses a xmas styled look during games. How cool is that!

Finally played a bit of Assassin's Creed Odyssey. WOW this game is more fun than Witcher 3 (in some ways). I can kill villagers indiscriminately (minus the kiddies) and wreck all sorts of havoc on foot and on horseback.

My only major complaints so far are the streaming lag (I played the Google Project Stream edition) and the lack of a dedicated jumping button. I also have some issues with the quest tracking feature but it's probably cuz I'm too used to the system in Witcher 3 or other games.

Will try to play more later. Lots of fun so far!
