I have Black Ops in 3D and it's great. I'd play it more often but the silly glasses hurt my nose after a while, I don't get any sickness or anything.

That's fascinating. The guy's still beating around the bush and being rather melodramatic, but I hope something good comes out of it.

I don't know if it will be these guys bringing games forward, but it'll happen eventually. Games will probably get so detailed it'll be hard to see the difference between a photo or a screenshot. I loves me some more detail, but I hope games will not only use it to create realistic games. Games really suck artistically right now.

Also I want a hollodeck.

I think sometimes when games get too detailed it hurts gameplay because it's harder to tell what's going on and make quick decisions. I kept driving into shit in Motorstorm Pacific Rift and I had trouble telling where dudes were in Far Cry 4. The Last of Us was really detailed though and I had no trouble keeping track of everything in that, future game developers should look at what The Last of Us did visually, that's how you do super realistic in games.

Really, I wouldn't have minded if games had never gone beyond PS2 level graphics. Silent Hill 2 is still my favorite game visually. I like the graphics in Stardew Valley just as much as in The Last of Us, and that was made by one guy. I like that indie developers are adding some variety to gaming's visuals. At the start of 7th gen it was really worrying how similar everything was looking.

Klemoib is actually right for the first time ever, games do suck artistically. Even I know this, and I'm an art noob.

Do you guys remember when you inserted that FFVII disc for the first time and that train was going around Midgar? The PS1 age had awesome interesting worlds, now it's just who can be the most realistic. I do like realism in certain games, FPS's for example, but games are supposed to be fun too.

I like a detailed handling with many options in strategy games, as it should support gameplay. Default issue in most games is that all these buttons and menues are rarely selfexplaining and logic at all. Ending up clicking "randomly" around to find something is annoying and time consuming.

Nothing kills games harder for me than this. It's exactly why I don't like puzzles.

Good point and click games give you clues and the puzzles are logical. I hope one day they make a comeback, Monkey Island 2 is still great, Zak McKracken is still hilarious.

It doesn't matter for me if the puzzle is logical. I have an emotional brain, not a logical one. It's why I like TV and movies more than Kyle, he's always finding logic problems. He's a gamer through and through.

I know something now, something I'm 100% certain of. The future of gaming is NOT Nintendo!

The Switch isn't even as powerful as the PS4 and that is four years old. What the fuck are they thinking? The market is dominated by machines already more powerful!

Sadly there is no real reason to buy a Nintendo console past twenty years. What a downfall...
Have no plans to replace my pc with a console either, as my favourite videogame genres are released there.

I bought the Wii(as a 3rd console, I already had 360 and ps3) because it is fun multiplayer, but serious gamers stay well away from them.

Yeah playing fun games coop on Wii was fun, played my favourite there with a gamecube controller though. Really liked the 360, it is superior in almost every way! Would have liked PS3 too, but Sony controller suck from my perspective.

Nod:
"Games are too graphics focused nowadays!"

"Nintendo games don't have powerful enough graphics!"

Most Nintendo games have cutesy, simple art styles anyway. They never needed anything more powerful than the Wii in my opinion. Realistic Mario would be fucking horrifying.

I mainly like Nintendo for handhelds. I've had lots of good times with DS/3DS.

I love Sony's controllers, but of course I grew up with them. They're natural to me.

But Egg, power isn't just for graphics! Remember that massive open world on Fallout 3? You couldn't do that on a Wii, that's why Xenoblade was all split up into areas and was so easy to get lost.

Apparently motion-sickness in VR is the norm, they have to use all sorts of tricks to get around it. No idea what the future with games is though. Streaming is a possibility but I think digital is probably gonna be more cost effective. I stopped buying physical copies, and I was one of the ones spitting chips about not having manuals anymore.

The true future is probably digital eye implants, so that images are projected straight into your retina and you can just lie around in a pool of your own poo, your own safe space.

Future of fighting games from shootbox discussion

Was to lazy to split my message up cuz I'm on cellphones

At first I was going to agree with you Vlado but then I remembered forcing fighting games into specific patterns is exactly what makes them stale. I like the dead or alive franchise but basically it's the same ass game from dead or alive 2 through 5. Mortal Kombat actually does different things with fighting mechanics and story between iterations even with its staple features.

So I wouldn't immediately reject rockshards idea even though it might seem inconvenient to not have all your moves at the start.Maybehe'sinontosomething.Havingrpg mechanicslikepowerupgrades might be too slow for a vs or arcade mode but I could see it working for story mode. And it's more natural to have charactersgrow more powerfulas the storyprogresses.
