In what way is Split Second Velocity so great?

It's an incredible display of craftmanship for one thing, and one of the most well designed racers of all time. So much detail went into all the powerplays, and all the eye candy that goes on. The environment permanently changes with each one, and some of them open new routes. They were even so bold as to stack them. Example: There is a powerplay where you can make a plane crash, but this one can only be triggered if you're on the runway, which must first be opened up by toppling a control tower. Each course oozes depth. You'd think a game like that would only have a handful of courses, but it actually has plenty. The game is huge. There are also side events, my favorite one is Survival, in which you have to evade trucks that drop explosive canisters. It's a guilty pleasure of mine, I can play this mode over and over and still find it enjoyable. PS3 screenshot:

And to think they ported the game to PSP, as late as 2010 when the PSP was practically dead. PSP is so lucky to get this gem of a game. (definitely one of the system's more technically impressive titles)

To be fair I thought the game was only so-so at first. It starts off a bit slow until you unlock faster cars, and some of the courses have a learning curve. But around halfway into the game it started to really click with me, and now it's one of my favorite games ever. I actually considered getting a PS3 just so I can play the console version.

Hmm, that really sounds impressive. I might give it a go one day.

"Beat" Civ 3 again. It was too easy this time with a diplomatic victory. All I had to do was build the UN and not get into wars with everyone so they would all vote for me! Since I had an island all to myself that was pretty easy.

Funny the AI Russians, AI Chinese, and the AI English all got eliminated by the other AI in this scenario. Strongest competition (in terms of score, land, and population) were French and Greeks and Babylonians. I leapfrogged all of them in research!

Armored Core - Last Raven Portable

It only took five days, not so bad. I'm not done yet, as the game uses a branching path system, and there being an obscene amount of missions in total. The problem now is figuring out how much of it I should bother doing. I guess my primary motivation should be piecing together the story as I was very disappointed with the ending I got.

As it stands I could be starting FF Type-0 sooner than expected, but I shouldn't jinx myself. I'll just focus on Last Raven for now. The game is stupid hard, it takes multiple attempts to beat a single mission.
