This week I'm mixing up the genres a bit and going for some good old fashion side scrolling shoot 'em up action
The game is Project-X which was released for the Commodore Amiga in 1992 and later ported to DOS.
If you've ever played a side scrolling shooter you will know exactly what to expect, this game is pretty standard. You get a choice of three spaceships at the start, each has different levels of maneuverability and firepower.
There are a good choice of weapons to level up, missiles, side guns, plasma, you name it, it has it.
The difficulty is hard. VERY hard. I've never managed to complete it.
The game has a fantastic soundtrack, one of the very best on the Commodore Amiga and is a good solid game. I give it 8/10.
Here's the Commodore Amiga version.
It also got a sequel on the playstation called X2 which is even harder! The graphics and music are really good too. I recommend playing it, if you like Project-X, you'll probably love it.
